Encode and Decode Base64
Encoding that handles Arabic correctly — no mangled characters.
How to use it
- Choose a direction: encode or decode.
- Paste your text into the top field.
- Copy the result or download it as a file.
Base64 represents arbitrary data using only English letters and digits. It's used in email headers, authentication tokens and for embedding images in web pages. It is not encryption and protects nothing — anyone can decode it in a second.
Many Base64 tools break on Arabic because they call the browser's raw functions, which only handle Latin characters. This one converts to UTF-8 bytes first, so Arabic encodes and decodes correctly every time.
Frequently asked questions
Not at all. It's a fully reversible encoding that requires no key, so anyone holding the encoded string can read it. Never use it to hide passwords or sensitive data.
Because they use encoding functions that can't handle characters outside the Latin range. The fix is converting to UTF-8 bytes first, which is what this tool does.
Because Base64 represents every three bytes with four characters, growing the data by about a third. That's inherent to how it works and can't be avoided.
