How to use it
- Drag one or more images onto the box above.
- Set the quality level. Start at 80 and compare the resulting size.
- You can also cap the maximum width — reducing dimensions saves more than compression alone.
- Click “Compress” and download the result, or take them all as a ZIP.
Photos from modern phone cameras routinely exceed five megabytes each, which is far more than any web use requires. This tool re-encodes the image at slightly lower quality — a difference the eye barely registers — and the file typically drops by somewhere between 60% and 90%.
Quality 80 is the practical starting point for most photographs: the visual difference from 100 is close to imperceptible while the file is dramatically smaller. If the image contains text, sharp lines or graphics, push it towards 90 — aggressive compression shows visible artefacts around hard edges.
If the images are going on a website, try WebP. It delivers roughly the same quality at 25–35% smaller than JPG and every modern browser supports it. And if what you actually need is fewer pixels rather than fewer bytes, the image resizer is the better tool.
