Remove Duplicate Lines
Paste a list and get a copy with every repeat removed, with each line left in its original place. Handy for email lists, phone numbers, names and keywords.
How to use it
- Paste your list into the first box, one item per line, or use the Paste button.
- Pick the options you need. The result updates instantly as you change them.
- Check the counts under the options: original lines, lines kept, lines removed.
- Copy the result, or download it as a text file.
Want the cleaned list in alphabetical order? Paste the result into Text Sorter.
Why use this tool?
- Your order stays intact The first occurrence of each line stays where it was and only later repeats are removed, unlike sort-based methods that reshuffle the whole list.
- Finds the repeats, too Turn on “Show only the duplicates” to see which entries appeared more than once, such as a person who registered twice.
- Your list never leaves your device Everything happens in your browser, so you can clean customer lists or phone numbers without sending them to any server.
When do two lines count as the same?
The options only change how lines are compared. The output keeps each line exactly as it first appeared, so if “[email protected]” comes before “[email protected]”, the first one stays, capitals and all.
| The two lines | Treated as duplicates? |
|---|---|
| [email protected] and [email protected] | Yes, while “Ignore letter case” is on, which it is by default. |
| “London” and “London ” with a trailing space | Yes, while “Ignore surrounding spaces” is on, which it is by default. |
| “café” and “cafe” | No. An accented letter is a different letter. |
| “555 0100” and “5550100” | No. Spaces inside a line are part of it. |
What happens to the text you paste
- The list is processed entirely inside your browser. No line of it is sent to our server or anyone else.
- The download file is created on your device.
- You can check this yourself: open the page, disconnect from the internet, and the tool keeps working.
