Format and Fix JSON

Format and validate, with errors located by line and column.

How to use it

  1. Paste your JSON into the top field.
  2. Choose format or minify, and set the indent size.
  3. Copy the result, or fix the error it points to if one appears.

JSON from an API usually arrives as one long unreadable line. Formatting re-indents it so you can actually read it; minifying does the reverse when you need the smallest possible payload.

When there's an error, the message alone is rarely enough. We show the line and column where parsing stopped, which turns hunting for a trailing comma from a chore into a second's work. Arabic text inside values is shown as-is rather than being escaped into codes.

Frequently asked questions

A trailing comma after the last item, single quotes instead of double, unquoted keys, and comments — JSON doesn't support comments at all.

No. Formatting preserves the key order exactly as it appeared in the source; only indentation and line breaks change.

Parsing happens inside your browser and nothing is sent to any server, so nobody sees what you paste. Even so, always be careful with access tokens and production keys.
